mein Name ist Alex. Nach fünf Jahren beim Technologiekonzern Carl Zeiss erlag ich der Faszination für die vielseitigen Facetten der Designbranche. Seit dem hatte ich die Gelegenheit diese in unterschiedlichsten Orten kennenzulernen. Durch Stationen in Adelaide, Coburg, Bangkok, New York und China hat sich meine Leidenschaft für Gestaltung und Kultur weiter ausgeprägt. Inzwischen arbeite ich beim Traditionsunternehmen Gaggenau in München als Produktdesigner, sowie als freiberuflicher Designer für Webauftritte, Grafik, Photographie und Film.
my name is Alex. I work as a freelance Designer residing in Germany. The focal point of my daily work is designing products, digital content and print publications. Supplementary my passion for photography and film helps me communicating and visualizing my ideas.
My qualification bases on a solid technical background. I started my career at Carl Zeiss nearby my idyllic hometown in South Germany. Then I began to explore the world and the fascinating facets of Design. During stations in Adelaide, Coburg, Bangkok, New York and China I kept my passion for innovation and added further creative and cultural aspects. Meanwhile I work for the the home appliance brand Gaggenau as a product designer in Munich and as a freelance designer in the area of web design, print, graphic design, film and photography.

Working for the only true luxury brand for home appliances is a privilege. Being part of a team which is shaping the appearance of future Gaggenau appliances and being responsible for continuous improvements on a evolutionary base is challenging and fulfilling at the same time.

Internships at Smart Design are a great
opportunity to explore new facets of Design. Within 4 months I learned to understand Design as a tool for problem solving in a holistic way. It is far more than the actual part of designing. Working together with some of the most talented designers in multidisciplinary teams opened my mind and improved my abilities to create meaningfull solutions.

From October 2010 to October 2014
Studying Product Design in Coburg prepared me perfectly for all my stations afterwards. I got my toolbox filled with all necessary skills. We worked on real projects with well known companies and learned beside product design the basics of user interface, mechanics, economics, photography and typography.
Internship at
Cerebrum Design in Bangkok
From September 2012 to January 2013
The time in this Bangkok settled studio was a great opportunity for me to learn a lot about the direct communication with clients. We worked together in a team of designers and engineers from Spain, France and Thailand. We all profited from each other and achieved really good results. In addition I enjoyed exciting impressions which came along with living and working in a foreigner country and a different culture.

This was my first full time job and still is a part of my technical foundation as a product designer. My responsibilities were to support R&D projects, manufacturing parts for prototypes, assembling and adjusting optical instruments. Later I worked another 5months in Adelaide, Australia for Carl Zeiss. During this time I was even able to join a Eye-Care-Trip to Aborigine communities.
